Zombie Wizard of Oz
I finally got to give “Mosh Bitch” her birthday present yesterday, which means I get to show it to you guys too, without the risk of ruining her surprise. Abbey loves the Wizard of Oz, and zombies- so I decided to combine the two and cross-stitch my design into a whole new level of awesome. This is what I ended up with: I’m pretty proud of it. Just as well really, as...

Rob Ryan Rip-Off
I’m currently working on a cushion cover craft project, inspired by one I saw in my local fabric shop a few weeks ago. Have a sneaking suspicion they got the idea from Rob Ryan’s awe-inspiring prints…. The original: My work-in-progress: Slightly busier than the original, but I wanted to add in some bunting for extra whimsy.

Cottontailsbaby
I found this shop today via Country Living’s website. The handmade toys are so beautiful I almost want to buy them for myself. Just look at these adorable woodland creatures: So. Cute.

Brighton Pod →
I just cyber-stumbled upon this amazing website that sells quirky and retro art, furniture and gifts from Brighton-based designers and artists. Some of my favourites include… The Make A Wish Ring The Rocket Bound for Saturn canvas The Flying Pegasus Statue And this INCREDIBLE floral cushion I am definitely going to make a cushion like that as one of my next craft projects.

A rhumba of rattlesnakes →
I recently realised I have no idea what the correct collective noun is for so many groups of critters. After researching a few on their own (“An eclipse of moths” was my favourite discovery), a friend sent me the link above to a page with dozens of amazing ones. I sense hours of geekery ahead, and an imminent trip to the zoo or the sea-life centre so I can show off my newly-gained...

A Midsummer Night's Dream
One of my best friends is named after Titania in Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. This weekend she’s having a fancy dress party of that theme for her birthday, and I’ve managed to find her the perfect present; a teeny tiny 1917 edition of the book. I’ve sewn a cover for it as the leather is really delicate.

Pulp Parlour Pinatas →
Possibly the coolest things my eyes have ever seen. They are the most mind-blowing sculptures, and they are MADE OF PAPIER MACHE! The people designs are so Tim Burton I’m sure they’re verging on copywrite infringement (although would you sue a company who makes things to weild bats at? I imagine they’ve got a few spare bats lying around for product testing…), and the...
